In 2014, I began experimenting with digital surface designs as wholecloth tops for my art quilts. Mixed Art (shown at left) was one of the first ones and was created from manipulating photographs in Adobe Photoshop. It won Honorable Mention at the Charlotte Quilters’ Show in 2015.
My surface designs are primarily digital files made with graphic software but over the years, I have explored many different techniques. Recently, I’ve using computer algorithms to create interesting surface designs. The one below is called sinePlay and was created using the sine wave generator in Photoshop.
