A Heath is an experienced librarian, archivist, author, curator and artist. Her work in metadata management, archiving and product management spans over 20+ years across many sectors - corporate, government, publishing, healthcare, education and ecommerce. On a personal note, Angela is a designer, textile artist and painter. She also has been an avid jigsaw puzzle collector for 30+ years.

I aim to create art primarily to promote awareness and enlightenment of mankind.
While my artistic voice has historically been abstract, I realize that stories need to be told, candles need to be held up and lights need to shine. To that end, I continue to strive in letting my unique light shine to tell the stories that enlighten and uplift mankind.
I’m so excited about finishing Sensoria! This is a fabric mosaic stretched on a 24″ wooden canvas. I’ve always loved doing quilted mosaics but this one is different in that it does not have stitching.
This piece has a collection of 35 fabrics curated by me that consists of batiks, hand-dyes, hand-painted, screen-printed, solid Kona cottons and digital fabrics made by me. The binding is a rich, deep navy blue mottled hand-dyed. It brings great depth to the edging on the piece and really creates a floating kaleidoscope of colors.
I spent the first quarter of 2021 renovating my studio and storage spaces. Up ’til now, my studio has been more of a creative space. For a long time, I’ve been yearning for a “creative” office feel that would suit my future creative endeavors.
Having an online image catalog has been a long time dream of mine. I’ve been working on archiving all of my art images. The image catalog will consist of copyrighted images from my paintings, textiles (quilts), surface designs and photography collections. More to come on this endeavor…

I’ve been a creative for all of my life. Sharing my journey allows me to help others and help myself at the same time. At this time, I want to share the tenets of my studio practice. Most of these tenets are the result of years and years of practice. Throughout the year, I’ll explain more about these tenets and how they have influenced my work and life.

Meet “Star Birth…when gases coalesce to give birth to a star”
This painting is acrylic and ink on 20″w by 16″h wood. The topic gave way to form a new technique in my painting practice. That is, applying the ink first and then the acrylic paint on the wood. The soft gel applied to various areas on the surface of the painting act as a hard varnish. The painting is absolutely mesmerizing to look at !!!

COVID Times
I recently worked on some quilts to express my thoughts and feelings during these times of pandemic and social unrest. It was cathartic for me to express my feelings about this year so far. The collection is called In the Midst of Chaos.
I am a “seasonal” artist. What does that mean? It simply means that my studio work shifts with the seasons. This “studio schedule” has evolved over the years and so far has worked for me.
