QUILTS, Tales from the Innervision, 2022, fused, yellow, orange, brown
Statement: The 3rd work in the Tales from the Innervision quilt series, Crossing Roads is the personal discovery of the terrain of life. Like traveling over different terrains, life’s journey consists of crossing many roads that are full of turns, ups, downs, stops, starts, rough patches and smooth ones.

Statement: The 2nd work in the Tales from the Innervision quilt series, Seeing My Way Out of Blue represents the eventual transformation of a human being out of the muck and mire of life’s visceral levels into a deeper, psychic realm of existence.
QUILTS, Tales from the Innervision, 2021, fused, brown, black
Statement: The first work in the Tales from the Innervision quilt series, Searching for Inner Code represents the inner work that every person goes through to discover their own “code”.
Ebony Sons Rising honors our black men, their struggles living in America and their enduring strength and resolve to rise. This piece follows one of my studio tenets which is –
BENEVOLENCE
Webster’s dictionary defines benevolence as “the quality of being well meaning; kindness.”
I aim to create art primarily to promote awareness and enlightenment of mankind.
While my artistic voice has historically been abstract, I realize that stories need to be told, candles need to be held up and lights need to shine. To that end, I continue to strive in letting my unique light shine to tell the stories that enlighten and uplift mankind.

Artist Statement
Ocean Water Waste depicts the huge problem of ocean or marine littering. I have made quite a few water paintings as water and land are my favorite earth elements. These three pieces are beautiful like our real oceans in spite of the litter dumped on them. This reminds me of our human spirit. Even when we are dumped on (esp. in pandemic times), our essence is still exquisitely beautiful.
This series honors our oceans and brings some attention to their degradation by pollution. Unfortunately, their exquisite beauty does not exempt them from reckless and the oftentimes negligent actions of their caretakers. I sincerely believe that our humanity is not only in our treatment of each other but in our treatment of the most precious resources entrusted to us.
